15 Creative and Delicious Things You Can Make With Oreos

Since we were kids, we've eaten them one of two ways: Straight up. Or dunked in milk. (Twisting them in half first and eating the icing first is a given. If you find someone who claims to eat theirs whole, without twisting, they are either lying, or part of a terrorist sleeper cell. And should be reported to the authorities immediately.)

But I bet you never knew that besides being crushed up and sprinkled on top of ice cream, Oreos could be used as a main ingredient in some creative and delicious concoctions that take advantage of its chocolate-cookie-with-cream-filling goodness.

1. Deep Fried Oreos
Because nothing says "The Most Delicious Heart Attack You've Ever Had" quite like a deep fried Oreo...

2. Homemade Oreo Ice Cream
Cookies and cream is a classic ice cream flavor. And if you're not in the mood to drive down to the store and get Ben & Jerry's version, grab a pack of Double Stuf and whip up your own batch.

3. Oreo Biscotti
Oreo cookies with your morning coffee is so third grade. But Oreo biscotti? Well, that's downright European.

4. Oreo Cheesecake
You could spend big $ for this popular dessert at The Cheesecake Factory. Or you can spend some quality kitchen time and bake your own version. And make it extra Oreo-y.

5. Oreo Chocolate Pie
Waistline not expanding as fast as you'd like? Try this Oreo pie that doesn't just use the cookie for the crust... This one calls for them to be mixed into the filling, then sprinkled on top in case you're not getting enough of an Oreo injection. (I think Jamie Oliver just started crying again.)

6. Oreo Cupcakes
We love cupcakes. We love Oreos. Now imagine an Oreo cupcake with crushed Oreos mixed into the cake batter, with an Oreo cookie on top. You're welcome.

7. Oreo Doughnuts
Why? Because donuts are just not fattening enough on their own... and there's wasted space where the whole is. Stuff an Oreo in there and boom, two birds, one stone.

8. Oreo Martinis
Are the kids stressed after a hard day at school? Blend some vodka, Kahlua, crème de cacao, and cream, top it off with an Oreo garnish, and you've got a chocolaty cocktail that tastes just like an Oreo, and is perfect for taking the edge off. (Of course I'm kidding about giving it to a kid. We all know they prefer beer.)

9. Oreo Mint Shake
Double your dessert favorite intake with this shake recipe, famous for being featured on Jack-in-the-Box menus.

10. Oreo Muffins
Keep your boring bran muffins. And those banana raisin nut oatmeal things taste like ground up saw dust. Start your day with an Oreo muffin and trust me, nothing else will seem to matter...

11. Oreo Pancakes
Pancakes are the perfect vehicle for blending in stuff that doesn't seem "breakfast," yet deliver early morning deliciousness. Cookies for breakfast? Yes please.

12. Oreo Pizza
More of a dessert than a brick oven main course, this pie combines a brownie batter crust with Oreos and other assorted sweets, such as marshmallows and peanut butter candies. I need an insulin shot just reading about it...

13. Oreo Truffles
Apparently this one has been making the rounds on the InterGoogles for a while now, with people whipping up these little balls with a creamy Oreo whites and cream cheese center wrapped in an outer shell of chocolate, for holidays.

14. Oreo Bread Pudding
Love your Oreos with milk? Try this bread pudding recipe that features both in a big way.

15. Oreo Kisses
Until Hersheys catches on that these little Oreo filled nuggets of chocolate goodness rock harder than their caramel filled version, you can grab the recipe and make a batch of your own.
